Purity & Laboratory Testing
Each lot of Ipamorelin is supplied lyophilized and is characterized analytically prior to release:
- Purity: reversed-phase HPLC, ≥99% as reported on the lot-specific COA.
- Identity: confirmed by mass spectrometry (MS) against the expected molecular mass of the pentapeptide sequence Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2.
- CAS Registry Number: 170851-70-4.
- Lot documentation: net peptide content, HPLC chromatogram, and MS values are reported as lot-specific values on the COA accompanying each unit.
These analyses are analytical characterizations of identity and purity only. They are not a measure of biological activity, safety, or fitness for any application. For research use only, not for human use.
Certificate of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis is available per production lot, documenting HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity confirmation.
Research Background & Study Phase

References to clinical phases/studies describe the compound in independent third-party literature (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed) and do not represent claims, testing, or approval by Zynix Biolab.
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide with the reported sequence Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2 (CAS 170851-70-4). In the published literature it has been characterized as a selective agonist of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1a (GHS-R1a / ghrelin receptor) and is classified among the growth hormone-releasing peptides (GHRPs).
The compound was first described in the preclinical literature by Raun and colleagues (European Journal of Endocrinology, 1998), where it was reported as a growth hormone secretagogue that, in the models studied, released growth hormone without significantly elevating ACTH or cortisol relative to GHRH stimulation — a selectivity profile examined in subsequent third-party work. It has since been the subject of in-vitro receptor-binding studies and in-vivo animal models, including a rodot study of longitudinal bone growth (Johansen et al., 1999).
In third-party clinical research conducted by other organizations, ipamorelin has been investigated as a ghrelin-receptor agonist for the recovery of gastrointestinal function following abdominal surgery (postoperative ileus), as registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under identifier NCT00672074. Research Applications
For Research Use Only · Not for human or veterinary use · Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
In the published scientific literature, ipamorelin has been examined as a tool compound in laboratory and preclinical research contexts, including:
- In-vitro studies of GHS-R1a (ghrelin receptor) binding and agonist activity and associated intracellular signaling pathways.
- Investigations of growth hormone-releasing potency and selectivity relative to other secretagogues in cell-based and animal models.
- Animal-model research on somatotropic-axis dynamics, including studies of longitudinal bone growth and body-weight endpoints in rodents.
- Use as a reference / comparator GHRP in structure-activity and receptor-pharmacology studies.

Handling, Storage & Reconstitution
General laboratory handling guidance for the lyophilized research material:
- Storage (lyophilized): store at -20°C, protected from light and moisture; minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
- Reconstitution: for laboratory preparation, reconstitute with bacteriostatic or sterile water by adding solvent slowly down the vial wall and swirling gently (do not shake) until fully dissolved.
- Reconstituted storage: keep refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the working window established by the laboratory; aliquot to limit repeated freeze-thaw.
- PPE: handle with appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, eye protection, lab coat) under standard laboratory practice.
This handling information is general laboratory guidance and is not a dosing or administration instruction. For research use only — not for human use.
