Purity & Laboratory Testing
Each lot supplied by Zynix Biolab is characterized analytically for identity and purity:
- Purity: reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), with a specification of ≥99%.
- Identity: mass spectrometry (MS) to confirm the expected molecular mass of the peptide.
- Reference identifier: CAS No. 129954-34-3; molecular formula C33H57N11O9. Measured mass, peptide content, and net peptide values are lot-specific and reported on the COA.
- Documentation: a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA) is provided for each batch.
These are analytical characterizations of identity and purity only. They do not constitute a representation of biological activity, safety, or fitness for any in-vivo or human application. For research use only, not for human use.
Certificate of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis is available per production lot, documenting HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity confirmation.
Research Background & Study Phase
For Research Use Only · Not for human or veterinary use · Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
References to clinical phases/studies describe the compound in independent third-party literature (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed) and do not represent claims, testing, or approval by Zynix Biolab.
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide with the sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro (TKPRPGP), characterized in the literature as an analog of the endogenous immunopeptide tuftsin (the Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg fragment of the immunoglobulin G heavy chain), extended at the C-terminus with Pro-Gly-Pro to improve metabolic stability. It is identified by CAS No. 129954-34-3, with molecular formula C33H57N11O9 and a reported monoisotopic/average molecular weight near 751.9 g/mol (lot-specific values reported on the COA).
In the published scientific literature, Selank has been investigated primarily as a peptide anxiolytic candidate, with reported lines of inquiry examining modulation of the GABAergic system, regulation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression, and serotonergic and immunomodulatory (cytokine/interferon) activity. This body of work has been the subject of preclinical (in-vitro and animal-model) studies, much of it originating in Russian research institutions, together with a small number of investigator-led clinical reports. No registration for this compound was identified on ClinicalTrials.gov at the time of writing, and the compound has not been the subject of an approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Research Applications
For Research Use Only · Not for human or veterinary use · Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
In the published literature, Selank has been studied in controlled laboratory and preclinical settings. Reported research directions include:
- In-vitro and gene-expression studies examining components of the GABAergic neurotransmission system in neuronal cell models and rodent frontal cortex.
- Animal-model investigations of BDNF mRNA and protein expression in the hippocampus following intranasal administration.
- Examination of serotonergic, monoaminergic, and immunomodulatory (cytokine balance) pathways as reported in the literature.
- Use as a reference peptide / analytical standard for chromatographic and mass-spectrometric method development.
These descriptions summarize third-party scientific literature and are provided for scientific context only. They are not protocols, instructions, or claims of efficacy, and this product is not for human use, diagnostic use, or therapeutic use.
Handling, Storage & Reconstitution
General laboratory handling guidance for the lyophilized peptide:
- Storage: store the lyophilized peptide at -20°C, protected from light and moisture; minimize freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted material.
- Reconstitution: for laboratory preparation, the lyophilized powder may be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water or another suitable solvent appropriate to the experimental method; reconstituted aliquots are typically held at lower temperatures per the laboratory’s stability data.
- Safe handling: handle in an appropriate laboratory environment using standard personal protective equipment (PPE) — gloves, eye protection, and lab coat — following institutional safety procedures.
This is general laboratory handling guidance and is not a dosing or administration instruction. For research use only — not for human use.
